Job Responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and develop suppliers for mechanical components and parts based on technical capability, quality, cost, capacity, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate closely with Mechanical Engineering, Product Development, and Production teams to understand component requirements, engineering drawings, BOM, specifications, and manufacturing processes.
• Support mechanical component/part development from supplier selection, technical discussion, quotation, and sample evaluation through mass production readiness.
• Evaluate supplier capabilities and manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components, including machining, stamping, sheet metal, injection molding, casting, and related processes.
• Conduct material and component cost analysis, including quotation comparison and cost structure evaluation.
• Drive and support cost reduction / cost-down initiatives through alternative sourcing, material/process optimization, supplier negotiation, and value engineering.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal engineering teams regarding technical specifications, design changes, manufacturability, quality issues, and component improvements.
• Conduct supplier evaluation and support supplier qualification, onboarding, and performance monitoring.
• Support sourcing activities for new product development and engineering changes, ensuring component requirements meet cost, quality, and delivery targets.
  
  

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (S1) in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical component/part development, sourcing engineering, supplier development, product development, or a closely related engineering role.
• Hands-on experience developing, selecting, evaluating, or improving mechanical components/parts is required.
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes for metal and plastic components.
• Experience working with suppliers/manufacturers for component development, quotation, tooling, prototyping, sampling, or mass production is highly preferred.
• Understanding of material/component cost analysis, supplier evaluation, and cost reduction.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Detail-oriented and cost-conscious mindset.
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken, is a must.
