Job Descriptions:

• Designing, preparing, and executing the research proposal about Corn – genomic selection, together with the Corn Pre-Breeding and Corn Breeding departments: Aligning and synchronizing the needs and targets of corn Breeding department with Genomic Selection approach. Formulating the grand design of genomic selection approach to speed up corn breeding program. Designing and executing comprehensive pipeline for the genomic selection project (suggesting training population and validation sets, optimizing the SNP panels for genomic selection, creating the model and calculating the expected result)
• Designing and executing knowledge enrichment about genomic selection approach to all R&D Division members.
• Supporting Molecular Biology Research team during marker development process using new approaches/ new technology.

Job Requirement

• Doctoral degree (PhD) from Bioinformatics, Quantitative Genetics, Statistical Genetics, or any related subject, with disertation topic about Plant Genomic Selection/Prediction (Corn - Genomic Selection topic is a priority
• Excellent programming skills using R and/or Phyton, and deep theoretical and practical understanding of statistical models used in Genomics selection
• Demonstrated experience in bioinformatics and genomics, including handling and processing large-scale genomic datasets (e.g. WGRS sequencing data, SNP arrays)
• A proven ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team. You must be able to translate complex technical and scientific concepts for different audiences and work collaboratively to turn models into real-world impact
• Willing to work at Purwakarta, West Java
