Job Role

The Ocean Freight Sales Manager is responsible for leading and expanding the ocean freight business operations in Surabaya and the East Java region. This role focuses on driving strategic sales growth, identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer relationships, and overseeing overall sales performance within the area.

The position combines strategic business planning, commercial negotiations, team leadership, and logistics solution development to strengthen market presence and secure long-term partnerships with major corporate accounts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement area sales strategies to increase market share in Surabaya and East Java.
  • Identify new business opportunities through market analysis and industry trend monitoring.
  • Lead high-level commercial negotiations, presentations, and tender processes for strategic accounts.
  • Manage and maintain relationships with key customers and business partners.
  • Handle customer escalations and ensure effective resolution of operational or commercial issues.
  • Monitor sales team performance and ensure achievement of business targets and KPIs.
  • Collaborate with internal operations and regional stakeholders to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Support development of integrated logistics and ocean freight solutions for customers.


Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Sales or Sales Operations Management within Ocean Freight or Freight Forwarding industries.
  • Minimum 5 years in managerial or strategic leadership roles.
  • Experience selling logistics and supply chain solutions under a B2B business model.
  • Strong understanding of Ocean Freight operations, warehousing, and end-to-end supply chain solutions.
  • Experience managing strategic accounts, tenders, and commercial negotiations.
  • Strong knowledge of export/import regulations and international shipping processes.
  • Proven leadership capability in managing and developing sales teams.
  • Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Professional fluency in English for business communication and negotiations.
  • Proactive, target-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
