Job Description
- Operational Leadership: Supervise and coordinate daily sea freight operations, including cargo handling, loading, unloading, and shipment execution. Ensure all operations are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and service level agreements.
- Team Management: Lead, and mentor the operations and customer service team by assigning workloads, monitoring performance, providing technical guidance, conducting performance evaluations, and promote a high standard of productivity and compliance
- Operational Planning & Control: Plan and monitor operational activities to optimize resource utilization, equipment availability, and manpower allocation. Ensure operational targets and customer requirements are achieved.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Coordinate closely with internal departments including Customer Service, Commercial, Document, Depot, and Finance, as well as external stakeholders such as shipping lines, trucking vendors, terminals, depots, and port authorities to ensure seamless operational execution.
- Issue Resolution & Escalation: Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve operational issues including shipment delays, cargo discrepancies, documentation errors, equipment shortages, and service disruptions. Escalate critical issues to Branch Manager while ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
- Compliance & Safety Management: Ensure all sea freight operations comply with local, international, and company regulations, including safety and environmental standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in sea freight logistics
- Proven operational leadership skills in managing sea freight activities effectively.
- Strong knowledge of sea freight operations, container logistics, port activities, and cargo handling processes.
- Proficiency with logistics management systems and operational software.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive improvements.
- In-depth knowledge of international sea freight regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining high standards of operational efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction
