ROLE PURPOSE

Lead the development, enhancement, integration, and operational excellence of Point of Sales (POS) applications within the Sales & Distribution ecosystem. Drive technology modernization, process automation, and AI-powered innovation to improve sales productivity, operational efficiency, system reliability, and user experience across all sales channels.

Key Responsibilities

  • POS Application Leadership & Ownership
  • Own the end-to-end POS application lifecycle, including architecture, development, configuration, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Ensure POS applications support business requirements across sales channels, outlets, dealers, and distribution operations.
  • Drive application simplification, standardization, and modernization to support business transformation and system integration.
  • Define technical roadmaps, development priorities, and delivery plans aligned with Sales & Distribution business objectives.
  • Technical Development & Solution Engineering
  • Lead and actively participate in hands-on development, coding, debugging, configuration, and technical problem-solving.
  • Design scalable, secure, and high-performance application solutions using modern technologies and development practices.
  • Manage API development, middleware integration, database design, and connectivity with core systems and other enterprise applications.
  • Establish coding standards, conduct code reviews, and ensure compliance with IT architecture, security, and quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root cause analysis (RCA) and permanent corrective actions.
  • AI Development & Intelligent Automation
  • Develop and implement AI-powered solutions to improve POS capabilities, sales processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Build AI applications and services using appropriate AI models, APIs, frameworks, and enterprise data.
  • Explore and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI to automate repetitive tasks, accelerate development, and improve operational decision-making.
  • Develop AI-assisted monitoring, anomaly detection, predictive analysis, and intelligent incident management capabilities.
  • Identify opportunities to integrate AI into sales operations, outlet management, transaction monitoring, and user support.
  • Ensure AI solutions meet enterprise security, data privacy, governance, accuracy, and reliability requirements.
  • System Integration & Technology Modernization
  • Ensure seamless integration between POS and other Sales & Distribution systems, including outlet management, dealer management, sales applications, incentive systems, and enterprise platforms.
  • Drive API standardization, reusable services, and system interoperability across business applications.
  • Lead technology upgrades and migration initiatives to improve scalability, maintainability, and integration readiness.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, IT Operations, and external technology partners.
  • Service Reliability & Operational Excellence
  • Ensure POS application availability, performance, scalability, and transaction reliability.
  • Monitor application health, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement proactive monitoring and automation.
  • Lead incident resolution, problem management, and service improvement initiatives.
  • Establish service KPIs, technical documentation, disaster recovery readiness, and operational handover standards.

Required Technical Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of POS applications, sales distribution systems, and enterprise application architecture.
  • Hands-on software development skills in relevant programming languages and frameworks.
  • Experience in REST APIs, microservices, middleware, databases, and enterprise system integration.
  • Practical experience developing and deploying AI solutions, including Generative AI, LLM integration, or Agentic AI.
  • Knowledge of AI frameworks, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents, and model/API integration.
  • Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, automated testing, application security, and performance optimization.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, observability tools, and AI-assisted monitoring is an advantage.

  • Quality of system integration and successful technology modernization.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in application development, enterprise systems, and IT solution delivery minimal 3 years
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and managing business-critical applications.
  • Demonstrated hands-on capability in software engineering and solution design.
  • Practical experience building or implementing AI-powered applications or automation solutions.
  • Experience managing partners, budgets, projects, and cross-functional stakeholders.
