Milliman is looking for a bright, enthusiastic and experienced individual, keen to broaden his/her consulting and management skills as a Senior Consultant in our life insurance consulting team in Indonesia.
The position provides a great opportunity for someone to take a pivotal role in a fast-growing, emerging market and be involved in building Milliman’s local life insurance consulting business.
The Ideal Candidate Would
Be a qualified actuary (locally qualified, perhaps also with foreign qualification)
Have 10+ years of work experience of the life insurance industry, ideally with knowledge of Indonesia
Be self-motivated with strong leadership skills
Have strong networking and business development skills
Have experience and ability to manage a team
Have experience and ability to manage projects with critical deadlines
Have good communication and presentation skills
Have an appreciation of the need to be client focused and work in a collaborative environment
Be able to uphold the quality of work delivered to clients, following Milliman’s quality assurance standards
The successful candidate will broaden their experience and skills while:
Contributing to Milliman's growth in Indonesia through business development (a major focus of the role) and project delivery
Contributing to the strategy and direction for the Indonesian life insurance practice
Preparing proposals, engaging with clients, managing client relationships, billing, etc.
Building Milliman's brand in Indonesia through thought leadership, speaking engagements, etc.
Line managing and developing junior team members
Recruiting local staff to cater to growing market needs
Interacting with other leaders in Milliman, especially within the Greater Asia life insurance practice
We are seeking someone who can lead our team on the ground in Jakarta. If not currently working in Indonesia we seek a person who can be based in Jakarta for at least three years (with an option to extend for longer). The role will also involve interaction with other offices in South-East Asia and Hong Kong, and opportunities to work on other exciting projects in the region.
