What You'll Do

As a Senior Platform Engineer based in Jakarta, you will play a pivotal role in redefining how internal teams interact with infrastructure. Your day-to-day responsibilities will centre around building composable abstractions that empower engineers to launch services quickly without being bogged down by operational complexity. By treating fellow engineers as customers and prioritising their experience, you will help create tools that are genuinely adopted rather than circumvented. • Collaborate with the Platform team to transform existing infrastructure into a self-serve platform that enables engineers to deploy services rapidly using high-level abstractions such as Terraform modules and reusable CI/CD components.
• Engage with internal engineering teams as your primary customers, actively listening to their needs and designing developer-friendly abstractions that streamline workflows and reduce friction.
• Participate in strategic decisions regarding platform architecture, including evaluating foundational technologies like EKS and shaping the observability stack for end-to-end visibility.
• Contribute to defining the buy-vs-build-vs-host strategy by assessing where managed services can save time versus areas requiring custom ownership for optimal performance.
• Establish standards for reliability, observability, and foster a "you build it, you run it" culture that supports robust service delivery across the platform.
• Partner with engineers throughout the company during migration from monolithic systems to service-oriented architecture, ensuring seamless integration and readiness for new services.
• Mentor colleagues by reviewing code, sharing best practices, and influencing technical decisions that will guide platform development for years to come.
• Support stateful workloads in production environments including RDS, Aurora, Elasticache, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Elasticsearch while maintaining cost awareness in design choices.
• Implement secure networking solutions at scale by designing IAM policies, managing secrets, enabling service-to-service authentication, and safeguarding supply chains.

• Experience building internal platforms or developer tooling with a proven instinct for designing abstractions that teams readily adopt.
• Deep expertise operating Kubernetes clusters on EKS including networking configuration, RBAC management, autoscaling strategies, controllers implementation, and production-grade operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Terraform with hands-on experience writing reusable modules; similar depth in CI/CD pipeline design using tools such as DroneCI, ArgoCD or GitHub Actions.
• Comprehensive knowledge of AWS’s EKS ecosystem including IAM setup, VPC design, RDS management, networking principles; familiarity with GCP is advantageous but not essential.
• Demonstrated skill in observability practices covering logging, metrics collection, tracing methodologies; familiarity with industry-standard tools like Grafana, Prometheus or OpenTelemetry is highly valued.
• Ability to architect secure networking solutions suitable for multi-service platforms including IAM policy design, secret management protocols, service-to-service authentication mechanisms and supply chain protection.
• Comfort supporting stateful workloads in production environments such as RDS/Aurora/Elasticache/MySQL/MongoDB/Redis/Elasticsearch while maintaining operational cost awareness.
• Practical experience handling incident response processes including participation in on-call rotations and conducting thorough post-mortems for continuous improvement.
• Proficiency mentoring other engineers by defining clear tasks/deliverables for projects and positively influencing technical decisions across multiple teams.
