Technical Business Analyst

We are a Singapore-based software consulting firm with a vibrant team in Bandung, seeking a talented Technical Business Analyst to join our team. Together, we will design, implement, and deliver mission-critical web and mobile applications for our clients. Our software solutions are central to our clients' operations and user experiences, making it essential that they are robust, secure, scalable, and future-ready. You will work closely with clients, developers, architects, and project stakeholders to translate business needs into practical and scalable technical solutions.

In this role, a Technical Business Analyst bridges the gap between business and engineering. You will translate business requirements into clear user stories, functional and technical specifications, and ensure they are implementable by the engineering team.

Unlike traditional business analysts, this role requires strong technical understanding. Most successful candidates come from a software engineering background, with hands-on experience in system design, APIs, databases, and full software development lifecycle. This allows you to actively contribute to solution design discussions and assess technical feasibility alongside engineers and architects.

You will be involved throughout the delivery cycle - from requirements gathering and solution design to supporting development, testing, deployment, and post-production activities.

Responsibilities

• Work as a key member of the project team to drive project delivery and ensure successful execution.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders, including IT teams and system owners, as well as internal stakeholders such as Project Managers, Developers, QA Engineers, and DevOps Engineers.
• Work closely with Solution Architects to understand technical requirements related to cloud architecture, DevSecOps, CI/CD, integrations, and deployment strategies.
• Gather, analyze, and synthesize business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, technical specifications, and acceptance criteria.
• Translate business requirements into scalable and practical technical solutions.
• Analyze the impact of requested changes and recommend solutions that align with evolving business needs.
• Create workflow diagrams, process flows, wireframes, and presentation materials to communicate business processes and technical concepts effectively.
• Analyze technical requirements, identify dependencies and risks, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables.
• Support the preparation of technical deliverables, including:
• Architecture diagrams
• Cloud hosting and setup documentation (AWS or Azure)
• Third-party system integration requirements
• Performance and load testing requirements
• Solution design and technical specifications
• Data extraction, transformation, and migration requirements
• User stories and functional specifications
• Workflow and business process diagrams
• Manage and prioritize tasks across the project's technical track in a fast-paced environment.
• Prepare project reports and status updates for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and post-deployment support.
• Stay current with emerging technologies and continuously seek opportunities to improve solutions and processes.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, with excellent academic records or outstanding professional or personal achievements.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in software development, technical business analysis, system analysis, solution design, or related technical roles.
• Strong hands-on software development background, with prior coding experience and the ability to understand application architecture, APIs, databases, and system integrations.
• Experience participating in the full software development lifecycle, preferably using Agile methodologies.
• Strong understanding of web and mobile application development processes.
• Excellent analytical, conceptualization, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to translate technical requirements into clear documentation, diagrams, presentations, and implementation plans.
• Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong documentation skills.
• Self-motivated, resourceful, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Based in Bandung or willing to relocate to Bandung.

The following would be a “plus”

• Relevant certifications such as Cloud Certifications, Project Management Certifications, or Business Analysis Certifications.
• Prior experience in a product development company, consulting firm, or technology services environment.
• Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas:
• Database design
• Cloud architecture (AWS/Azure)
• CI/CD pipelines
• System integration
• RESTful APIs and microservices
• DevSecOps practices
