Accounting Officer

We are looking for an Accounting Officer to support our Finance Director and take a proactive role in the financial management of our rapidly scaling company. This is a fully remote role, so a high degree of self-discipline, commitment, and excellent communication skills are essential.

The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in accounting, with a proven track record of managing financial operations in a remote setting. In addition to overseeing day-to-day accounting tasks, this role will involve financial forecasting and analysis to support data-driven decision-making for our Campaign team. The ideal candidate also needs to have a strong passion for social issues and a strong track record of working in a fully remote team.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Conduct financial forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to provide insights and support strategic decision-making.
• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger activities.
• Oversee the continued implementation of the accounting software system, ensuring a smooth transition and providing support to team members during the process.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather financial data, support financial planning initiatives, and provide financial insights for business projects.
• Monitor cash flow, identify potential risks, and develop strategies to optimize working capital and liquidity management.
• Lead and participate in the preparation of audit schedules and assist auditors during the annual audit process.
• Proactively identify areas for process improvement, streamline accounting procedures, and implement changes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Mentor and train junior finance/accounting staff, delegating tasks effectively, and promoting their professional growth.
• Stay updated on industry trends, accounting regulations, and best practices to ensure compliance and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Assist in training and mentoring finance and accounting interns.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferably based in Jabodetabek
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in finance and accounting roles with increasing responsibility.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, and cash flow management.
• Advanced proficiency in accounting software and experience with a software system implementation.
• Experience in and Enthusiasm for Remote Work: The ideal candidate should not only have experience in a fully remote work environment but should also demonstrate an enthusiasm for it. They should have a suitable workspace, stable internet connection, and the necessary equipment to work effectively remotely.
• Remote Collaboration Skills: The ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective communication with a remote team is essential. The candidate should have experience with or be open to learning remote collaboration tools such as Slack, Jira, and Google Workspace.
