Associate Structural Drafter

Job Overview:

The Associate Structural Drafter is an entry-level position, and their work is completed with close supervision and support. They work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods and adhere to quality guidelines. The Associate Structural Drafter should have basic skills in an analytical or scientific method or operational process and appropriate licenses/training certifications.

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate and detailed structural shop drawings using 2D computer-aided design (CAD) software or Tekla drafting for fabrication
• Collaborate closely with other structural drafters in developing structural shop drawings, ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and fabrication requirements
• Coordinate with lead drafter to resolve technical issues
• Conduct regular self-inspections and quality checks to verify adherence to design drawings and structural codes
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to structural drafting and design
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by recommending process enhancements and implementing efficient drafting techniques
  
  

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Min. senior high school/ diploma or equivalent with a focus on technical drawing
• Fresh graduate for diploma or 2 years of experience as a drafter in the fabrication industry for senior high school
• Demonstrating a strong understanding of technical drawing
• Proficient in using CAD software, such as AutoCAD, to develop accurate and detailed technical drawings
• Familiarity with industry standards and codes for drafting
• Familiarity with 3D Tekla Structure would be an advantage
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively
• Good communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with structural drafting team
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills to identify and address technical challenges in developing technical drawings
• Proactive, willing to learn, and commitment to work with good performance to maintain productivity, quality, and safety
