Design Researcher

Mencari Product Design Researcher untuk SKitchen

What you will do:

1. Design Research & Insight Gathering

- Conduct research on consumer cooking behaviors (interviews, observations, surveys).

- Benchmark international cookware & lifestyle trends (materials, ergonomics, aesthetics).

- Analyze competitor products (local & imported) to identify gaps and opportunities.

- Synthesize findings into actionable design briefs.

2. Concept Development

- Translate insights into product concepts, mood boards, and simple mockups.

- Generate multiple design directions with clear rationale (the “why”).

- Collaborate with graphic & marketing team to visualize product storylines.

3. User Testing & Validation

- Prepare prototypes/mockups (can be low-fidelity models).

- Organize user testing sessions and collect feedback.

- Document usability issues and propose improvements.

4. Brand & Product Identity

- Help define SKITCHEN’s design language (signature handle, lid knob, surface finish, color palette).

- Ensure consistency across product families (cast iron, enamel, stainless steel, accessories).

5. Cross-functional Collaboration

- Work within R&D team, closely with the operations team, suppliers, and QC to align product feasibility with research.

- Support Marketing with design insights for storytelling, packaging, and positioning.

Qualifications:

- Background in Industrial Design, Product Design, or related field.

- Strong ability in design research, user studies, and trend analysis.

- Skilled in concept sketching, ideation, and visualization (doesn’t need advanced CAD).

- Strong communication & presentation skills (can translate research into clear direction).

- Curiosity, empathy, and awareness of cooking culture (local + global).

- Bonus: Experience in lifestyle/kitchenware/furniture industries.
