Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia is an Indonesian non-profit organization, founded in 2015, as a local partner for foundation soul surf project Bali (now Westerlaken foundation) by Dr. Rodney Westerlaken. Yayasan Westerlaken Alliance Indonesia has a complete Indonesian board. We are focuses on:

Opportunity

We are looking for a Marine Mammals and Turtles Paramedic with the following qualifications:

1. Veterinary Diploma (Amd., Vet) or Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine (S.KH), or Vet (drh.)
2. Fluent in Indonesian and English and have good communication skills.
3. Able to drive a motorbike and have a driving license.
4. Previous work experience in marine animal rescue or handling stranded marine mammals and sea turtles will be advantageous.
5. Knowledge of the biology and behavior of marine mammals and sea turtles, as well as the health issues and threats they face.
6. Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team.
7. Happy to learn new things.

Job Descriptions

1. Respond to the rescue, handling, and rehabilitation of stranded marine mammals and sea turtles on beaches.
2. Coordinate with the team to promptly detect the presence of stranded marine mammals or sea turtles and provide appropriate medical assistance.
3. Conduct medical assessments and initial treatment for injured or critically ill animals.
4. Understand and follow proper animal safety and handling protocols to ensure the well-being of both animals and oneself.
5. Participate in conservation efforts and educate the public about the importance of marine mammal and sea turtle preservation.
6. Assisting marine programs, such as actively confronting the captive industry, working towards sustainable dolphin watching practices, and conducting marine research.
