Education Officer - Indonesia

We are seeking an Education Specialist who will play a crucial role in contextualizing our tried and tested education programme for Indonesia. 

The Education Project Officer will use their in-depth understanding, local expertise, and relationship building skills to define and deliver our strategic ambition for a global education curriculum, including a pilot launch in Indonesian schools.

Applicants will need to be knowledgeable of the Indonesian education system and have experience in delivering workshops for children and building teacher capacity through training. It’s important that they have a good understanding of local teacher needs and school networking as well as the ability to effectively engage with schools through targeted outreach efforts.

A strong applicant will need to be confident, approachable, and highly motivated to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders. We need a positive go-getter who is passionate about making a difference!

Main responsibilities

• Adjust, contextualise and translate educational resources and supporting materials for launch in Indonesia
• Lead program promotion to local educators and ensure sign up from minimum 10 schools in the Surabaya area
• Ensure relevant program delivery design for Indonesia’s education audience (students and teachers) 
• Coordinate and deliver engaging teacher training events, equipping educators and facilitating the implementation of Common Seas Education materials
• Support 10 Surabaya schools in the completion of the Plastic Clever Schools award through the delivery of digital and in-person activities (including assemblies and workshops for students) and digital submission of evidence.
• Manage data and feedback to analyse the uptake and implementation of Common Seas resources
