Position Overview


Group Chief Financial Offer (CFO)


Meratus Group is seeking a hands-on, execution-driven Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead financial strategy and operations across our diverse group operations. This role goes beyond traditional financial oversight—it requires a leader who can actively resolve Accounts Receivable (AR) challenges, optimize cash flow, and strengthen financial operations while driving long-term financial sustainability.


Reporting directly to the CEO, the CFO will play a pivotal role in shaping the company’s financial health, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and building strong relationships with banks and financial institutions. The ideal candidate will blend strategic vision with operational execution, working closely with commercial and operations teams to enhance pricing structures, improve margins, and implement cost-control measures.


This is a high-impact role suited for a results-oriented finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced, complex environment and is committed to delivering measurable improvements in financial performance.


Key Responsibilities


1. Financial Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and execute the company’s annual budget, rolling forecasts, and five-year financial plan to support business growth.
  • Provide data-driven insights for mergers, acquisitions, capital investments, and strategic decision-making.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities, ensuring the company maintains a strong financial position.
  • Lead scenario planning and sensitivity analysis to assess the impact of market fluctuations on financial performance.


2. Cash Flow & Working Capital Optimization

  • Take ownership of AR recovery, implementing structured solutions to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and improve liquidity.
  • Optimize working capital management, balancing receivables, payables, and inventory financing.
  • Strengthen credit control policies to minimize bad debt and improve collection efficiency.
  • Ensure efficient treasury management, maintaining optimal cash reserves and investment strategies.


3. Operational Finance & Process Improvement

  • Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including billing, payroll, treasury, and month-end close processes.
  • Drive automation and process optimization using ERP systems and financial dashboards to improve efficiency.
  • Implement cost-saving initiatives across finance functions, reducing operational expenses while maintaining service quality.
  • Establish robust internal controls to prevent financial mismanagement and fraud.


4. Financial Reporting & Compliance

  • Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in compliance with IFRS, GAAP, and local regulatory standards.
  • Manage statutory audits, liaising with external auditors to ensure transparency and compliance.
  • Maintain full compliance with tax regulations, banking covenants, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Develop standardized financial reporting frameworks to enhance decision-making across business units.


5. Banking, Funding & Risk Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, lenders, and financial institutions to secure favorable financing terms.
  • Negotiate and manage credit facilities, working capital lines, and debt structures to support business expansion.
  • Identify and mitigate financial risks, including currency fluctuations, interest rate exposure, and liquidity constraints.
  • Implement hedging strategies where necessary to protect against market volatility.


6. Commercial Partnership & Margin Enhancement

  • Work closely with commercial and operations teams to refine pricing strategies, improve margins, and optimize cost structures.
  • Embed finance business partnering to ensure financial insights drive profitable decision-making.
  • Support contract negotiations with key suppliers and customers to maximize financial efficiency.


7. Leadership & Team Development

  • Recruit, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team with strong business acumen.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, continuous learning, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Implement training programs to enhance financial literacy across departments.


Qualifications


Education & Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • MBA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification preferred.


Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years in a CFO or senior finance leadership role.
  • Preferred to have spent time in group operations rather than subsidiary companies.
  • Proven track record in solving AR and cash flow challenges within a complex, high-growth environment.
  • Strong understanding of Indonesian financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience in negotiating banking facilities, managing debt structures, and optimizing financial operations.


Technical Skills

  • Expertise in financial planning & analysis (FP&A), treasury management, and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Strong command of IFRS, GAAP, audit processes, and tax compliance.
  • Ability to leverage financial dashboards and automation tools to enhance reporting accuracy.
  • Knowledge of risk management strategies, including hedging and liquidity planning.
