Job Description
Faculty Member Activities:
Perform Teaching Activities:
- Disseminate and impart basic or applied knowledge to students
- Assist students with learning process
- Assessing student’s learning
Perform Research Activities:
- Participate actively in specific research projects
- Propose new topics for research projects
- Maintain a program of research, scholarship or artistic creativity
- Contribute to their disciplines through publishing articles and books, presenting research findings, or disseminating their work to external audiences
Perform Community Services:
- Participate actively in community service programs
- Propose new program for community service
Faculty Resources Management:
Manage and monitor all activities related to the Faculty Member:
- Faculty Member recruitment process
- Determine Faculty Member qualification for each course
- Mapping Faculty Member competency
- Consult problematic Faculty Member
- Fulfillment of Faculty Members’ quota
- Monitor qualification development (JJA) of Faculty Members (including supporting data)
- Advanced study planning of Faculty Member
Supervise Deputy Head for all activities that related to Faculty Member scheduling and/or assignment for other Department
Assist Dean for processes related to Faculty Member termination
Academic Program:
- Ensure the implementation of academic policies and programs for respective Department
- Ensure academic program activities to comply with BAN PT / international accreditation criteria
- Stay up-to-date of latest trends, courses, and technology related to department, particularly those affecting academic program
- Stay up-to-date of government policy in education, particularly those affecting educational processes
- Manage and monitor for all matters related to teaching/learning process (e.g., curriculum design, instructional, delivery, and assessment in the department)
- Develop the Term of Reference (TOR), especially for the justification of curriculum development/revision
- Establish and ensure the Department/Program objectives and graduate competency is aligned with SATU University vision & mission
- Develop and implement program structures, teaching strategies, long-range planning, course distribution, curriculum mapping
- Lead and manage the process of producing department self-evaluation report (annually)
- Manage and monitor the research activities by coordinating it with Research Coordinator:
- Plan and monitor the research roadmap
- Establish research goals in respective Department
- Plan research grants and monitor their execution
Accreditation:
- Set up, manage and maintain accreditation targeted score from BAN – PT and international accreditation
- Manage and monitor the compliance activities and conduct document support for Borang or other national/international standard
- Maintain annual program performance according to BAN – PT valid standard and international accreditation
- Lead and manage the department’s accreditation document development
Academic Operational Activities:
Supervise Deputy Head for all activities related to the teaching operational activities:
- Finalize teaching schedule
- Monitor faculty member attendance
- Monitor meeting schedule of Department
- Appoint thesis advisors and examiners based on their qualifications
- Prepare the substitution for thesis examiners
- Approve thesis guideline
- Resolve student complaints
- Monitor Department meeting related to Faculty Member
- Monitor PDPT data
- Approve student thesis to be proceed for thesis defense
- Manage the process in resolving the case between students and lecturers
- Supervise Head of Laboratory / Studio for all activities related to the laboratory activities:
Design the Laboratory/Studio Program activities and guidelines
Establish Grading system
Monitor non-tuition revenue
Monitor research and development activities
External Collaboration & Public Image:
Coordinate with Head of Internationalization & Partnership Program and other Units related to collaboration and internationalization program:
- International partnership for inbound or outbound students
- Visiting professors / guest lecturers
- Collaboration with national and international Higher Education Institution
- Short Course activities
Collaboration with related industry and government
Act as public voice of the institution that promotes Faculty/School contributions locally, nationally and internationally, especially in marketing (open house) event activities
Must-have Requirements:
- Master Degree with relevant field of knowledge (Informatics Engineering/Teknik Informatika)
- 2+years of teaching experience
- Willing to be placed at SATU University Palembang, South Sumatera
