Head of Research & Development (R&D) - Plantation

You will be responsible for:

• Lead R&D Team and practices to contribute to the company innovation and long-term strategies and objectives.
• Develop and recommend implementation strategies to Regional Head/Estate Group Managers to run plantations in accordance to best agronomic standards.
• Identify challenges and develop innovative solutions to improve agricultural productivity, sustainability, and resilience.
• Ability to provide sound agronomic advisory based on changing environmental conditions, market dynamics, and stakeholder needs.
• Lead research for the adoption of new technology and equipment to improve the plantation operations and agronomic best practice.
• Implement the budget within the agreed agronomic standard parameter.

You will demonstrate the following qualifications:

• Minimum Bachelor of Agriculture/Agronomy or related education from credible University.
• More than 20 years of experience in agronomy/field management/pest and disease management/agronomic research-based functions.
• Deep knowledge and understanding of Oil Palm plantation operations and best agronomic standards from seed cultivation until harvesting.
• Ability to provide sound agronomic advisory, and partner with diverse stakeholders to implement the solutions.
• Sound leadership and decision making capability.
• Excellent communication in English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Based in Palangkaraya with frequent site visit to plantation.
