Position Overview

The IT Support & Help Desk Specialist will provide technical support, troubleshooting, and resolving hardware, software, and network system issues. This role requires a strong understanding of IT environments and a proactive approach to ensuring smooth operations for internal users and external clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for all technical inquiries, providing exceptional support and guidance.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network-related issues efficiently.
  • Install, configure, and maintain IT systems, including computers, printers, and mobile devices.
  • Conduct regular system maintenance and data backups to ensure reliability and security.
  • Manage user accounts, access rights, and IT security measures following company policies.
  • Respond to and resolve IT-related incidents through multiple communication channels (phone, email, in-person, or ticketing systems).
  • Monitor and maintain computer networks and related systems for performance and security.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users to enhance their technical proficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve IT infrastructure and processes.
  • Document and report all incidents, resolutions, and ongoing issues for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in IT Support or Help Desk roles, preferably in the Information Technology industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • In-depth knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), hardware, and software.
    • Familiarity with networking protocols and technologies (LAN, WAN, TCP/IP).
    • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical problems effectively.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
    • Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to explain technical concepts in non-technical terms.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified IT Professional (MCITP), or equivalent.
