Machine Operator

Position Summary

The Machine Operator assists with the setup, calibration, and operation of machines used in production processes. This role inspects machine operations and finished product against specified tolerances using precision measuring tools and determines and corrects minor machine malfunctions.

Job Responsibilities

• Unloads parts and inspects for quality and performs equipment set-up.
• Operates various equipment to meet production and business needs.
• Maintains stock of material and machine parts for equipment.
• Determine parts to be manufactured based upon production, orders and stock.
• Observes and maintains machines operation to detect defects or malfunctions.
• Additional duties as assigned.
  
  

Additional Responsibilities

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred
• 3+ years of previous machine operating experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Occasional travel either locally, nationally, and/or internationally may be required.
• Basic degree of proficiency in MS Office Suite, Outlook & Internet applications.
• Basic analytical, prioritizing, interpersonal, problem-solving, presentation, budgeting, project management (from conception to completion), & planning skills.
• Basic verbal and written communication skills (including analysis, interpretation, & reasoning).
• Basic understanding and application of mathematical concepts.
• Ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with peers and colleagues across the organization, as well as, internal and external clients.
• Ability to work well autonomously and within a team in a fast-paced and deadline-oriented environment.
• Ability to work with and influence peers and management.
• Self-motivated with critical attention to detail, deadlines and reporting.
• Possess a mechanical aptitude; ability to use a large variety of hand tools and basic knowledge of power tools, forklifts, welding equipment, and cutting torch.
• Ability to work overtime as necessary.

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Regularly/Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold & heat, risk of electrical shock, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
• The noise level in the work environment may be high.

The lathe galvanizer should primarily have sound knowledge in electroplating. Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals.

Key Responsibilities :

• Knowledge of coppering, chromium plating, degreasing, dechroming
• Reporting about irregularities in the operation of machinery
• Cleaning cylinder surfaces
• Spinning on and off of cylinders
• Maintain machines, equipment and tools in good condition
• Quality control (measuring and optical controls)
• Make additions to the chemical bath
  
  

Requirements :

• Minimum SMK preferred from the Engineering major
• Minimum 3 years experience as a electroplating / cylinder manufacturing
• Familiar for using crane
• Chemical laboratories experience is added value
• Welding experience is added value
• Willing to work in shift
• English skills is added value
