Are you passionate about precision machining? PT. SPM Surface Products is seeking a dedicated Machine Shop Engineer to lead a talented team of machining workers. In this pivotal role, you will ensure that machining processes, including CNC turning, milling, and multitask operations, run smoothly and comply with company policies, procedures, norms, and directions.

Travel Requirement: None

You will work both in an office and manufacturing shop-floor environment.

Domestic relocation is not available for this position.

What You Will Do

• Updating or redesigning existing tooling/dies to improve performance; completing new designs for tooling/dies for future projects.
• Utilizing 2D and 3D Cad/Cam software to develop prints, models and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) programs; assisting in the use of advanced computer systems and software.
• Collaborating with tool, die and quality control departments in troubleshooting and forging die preparation and production for product quality and integrity; supervising and directing the work of one or more design technicians.
• Developing sources and providing budgetary costs for forge tooling, press tooling and work holding and machining; establishing and maintaining development schedules.
• Evaluating engineering designs for manufacturability and process sequencing.
  
  

What Skills You Have

• Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
• Lean Manufacturing: Knowledge of the philosophy, principles and implementation approaches of lean manufacturing; ability to integrate and implement lean manufacturing philosophy into existing production and management processes.
• Manufacturing Equipment: Knowledge of the electrical, mechanical and logistics equipment used in manufacturing; maintain, update and store them.
• Manufacturing Processes: Knowledge of existing product manufacturing methods, technologies and processes; ability to execute, plan, manage and monitor the entire manufacturing process.
• Manufacturing Safety: Knowledge of manufacturing safety; ability to identify work-related hazards and perform necessary activities to meet regulatory requirements for the safety and protection of workers, environment and site.
• Manufacturing Standards, Procedures and Policies: Knowledge of organizational standards, procedures and policies in manufacturing activities; ability to plan, guide, and monitor manufacturing processes for compliance.
• Problem Management Process - MFG: Knowledge of manufacturing problem management processes, methodologies and techniques; ability to use a disciplined approach to bringing that problem to a successful resolution.
  
  

What Will Set You Apart

• A minimum diploma in engineering with at least 2 years of experience as CNC Programmer role, including CNC turning operations, milling operations, and multitask operations.
• Proficiency in speaking and writing in English, as well as operating Ms Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  
  

Physical Requirements (with Or Without Reasonable Accommodation)

• This job requires extensive active movement throughout the plant including climbing stairs and steps, lifting devices, and pushing and pulling equipment.
