Manufacturing Assistant

MANUFACTURING ASSISTANT

Positions:

• Manufacturing Assistant, Supervisor Level. PT.MPP support for international client UDG GEAR www.udggear.com @udggear #udggear.
• UDG is the #1 brand that produces bags, cases, and travel gear for DJ’s/Producers

UDG is a world-leading company specializing in the design and manufacture of specialized luggage and travel gear for the professional music industry under the UDG brand and for OEM clients.

PT. Mitra Putra Perkasa, Bandung, Indonesia, being the manufacturing partner of the regional UDG group - The Netherlands, is seeking experienced candidates to lead our R&D team.

This is a Supervisor-level position for staff management, and in charge of R&D in Bandung Indonesia, and the manufacturing process in Mainland China to improve the quality of products, and services of the Company and reduce costs of company operations.

Location:

• Ciumbuleuit, Bandung, West-Java

Role and Responsibilities:

1. Production Planning – focus on factory production On-Time build plan
   1. propose factory build plan schedule & qty to support sales qty
   2. monitor and make sure factory production is built according to lead time
   3. for new product, propose which factory to build – consider cost, lead-time, quality, shipment & service

1. Timing Control - focus & make sure OTD to customers
   1. monitor factory production status very closely, give input to logistic dept and sales dept for the shipping arrangement
   2. make sure inventory is replenished on time
   3. make sure there is sufficient stock to deliver Time to the customer
   4. for new products without inventory, make sure OTD to the customer after issuing PO.
   5. compile and report Customer Outstanding POs weekly (KPI)

1. Quality Control – focus on delivering good quality to customers
   1. make sure to ship good product quality to customers
   2. request factory for quality inspection report before payment is made and before shipping to customers
   3. coordinate and resolve quality issues between Sales (Customers) and factories.

1. Cost Break Down (CBD) – New Product Pre-pricing calculation & develop CBD
   1. Prepare new product pre-pricing calculations during NPD stages.
   2. Determine the target price and expected margin %
   3. Check and propose if the pricing quoted by factories is reasonable
   4. Propose new product pricing and % of profit margin

1. Packaging Instruction Sheet (PIS) – Maintain the PIS data.

1. Making a Master data sheet - consisting of all specifications of the product.

1. Window person to communicate with GM & factories

Help the Product designer communicate with the factory

1. China trip for QC inspection.

1. Manufacturing contracts

1. Vendor Sourcing / Supplier
   1. Search possible 3 potential suppliers through Alibaba/Google/Recommendation.
   2. Receiving the specs from the Design Dept, discussing the target price with the Sales Dept, and getting the price quote from potential Suppliers.
   3. Discussing with the Production Manager before presenting the quotes to the Management.
   4. Upon the approval of the Management, send an NDA to Vendors.
   5. NEW ITEMS: Upon the approval of the Management, ask for 1 prototype sampling.
   6. CURRENT ITEM: Upon the approval of the Management, deliver 1 production sample to make a prototype from the new Supplier.
   7. Maintain communication with Vendors/Suppliers during the Sample/Prototype-making period.
   8. Delivery of Prototypes/Production sample ex China to the designated address ( INA/ NL)
   9. Coordinate the delivery with Purchasing and Logistics
   10. Reviewing the Sample / Prototypes with the Design Dept/Sales Dept/Production Manager/ Director and update the revision to the Vendors/Suppliers.
   11. Upon the approval of product pricing from the management, inform the Purchasing and Logistics Dept.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Efficient communication, strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
• The ability to plan, coordinate, and execute production activities within budget and on time is critical
• Production Managers must be proficient in using project management software, understanding Gantt charts, and managing resources to meet deadlines
• Process Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, Scheduling, MS Office, Customer Service, Troubleshooting and Project Management.
• Negotiation skills with suppliers
• Product Life Cycle mastery
• Strong analytical skill
• Adaptability and flexibility
• Knowledge of manufacturing production and processes.
• Problem-solving and understanding consumer desires or satisfaction as a goal and how to realize it through good and great products

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering or Related Degree from a reputable University.
• Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in Luggage Manufacturing or similar Industry.
• Sounds knowledge in planning, operations, methods, and tooling.
• Excellent ability to identify issues, anticipate problems, and implement solutions.
• Familiar with Any of the following drawing software programs; CAD, AI,
• Excellent command of English and ( preferably )Chinese,

both spoken and written.

• Working location in Bandung and frequent visits to Mainland China.
