What you’ll do
The Oncology Market and Patient Access Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to enhance market access and patient access for the oncology portfolio. This role involves aligning with the business case, defining access strategies, conducting business analysis, and ensuring quality control. Collaborating closely with internal teams, regional, and global market access and pricing teams, the manager will develop access programs and pricing scenarios, while ensuring internal approvals align with governance standards. They will oversee the Early Access Program (EAP), Patient Access Program (PAP), and compliance with regulatory requirements, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. Additionally, the role includes building relationships with key hospital, government, and industry leaders, while maintaining adherence to company values, marketing codes, and compliance policies.
Typical Accountabilities:
Taking ownership to lead CFTs working together productively and efficiently on Business Case Development
Delivering the required outcomes of the process and approval
Understand regulation and internal EAP/SAP and PAP policy and put that into consideration to run the program.
Single point of contact for operational aspects for internal (medical, regulatory market access, region, distribution) and external (hospital, KOLs, doctors and patients)
EAP / SAS program and PAP issues are managed and escalated as needed.
Tactical implementation shall align with commercial and market access strategy.
Closely working with appointed 3rd party as needed to run EAP/SAS and PAP in the country.
Collecting information as per administrative and documentation requirements which meets local regulation and global policies.
Collecting required documentation for health authority submission
Lead document submission and follow up to get it approved timely.
Understanding reporting requirements and developing data collection strategy
Conducting internal reporting as well as external reporting timely
Develop documentation management system including type of document and archiving.
Establish and monitor the inventory, and remaining stock levels in accordance with the standard operating procedures.
Responsible on stock destruction and documentation
Identify and develop KOLs engagement plan which align with Commercial and Market Access strategy.
Identify and develop government elements engagement plan which align with regulatory and distribution
Leverage insights of the treatment on disease guideline and comprehensive understanding of brand strategy to develop innovative market and patient access strategy for oncology portfolio.
Understands the patient’s perspective from the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey. Uses this to develop tactical plan of SAS/EAP and PAP.
Possesses an in-depth understanding of the dynamics and challenges within the Therapeutic Areas, as well as insight into how 'value' is generated, perceived, and leveraged to facilitate early patient access and ongoing support.
Understands patient journey and the available treatment choices and uses this information to create credible ‘value’ propositions for Oncology Portfolio that ensure early access through SAS program and PAP.
Facilitates collaboration across various functions to formulate an early access strategy and a Patient Access Program (PAP) plan.
Engages closely with government representatives and key opinion leaders to identify opportunities for the introduction of innovative scientific advancements in patient treatment and medication.
Possesses a comprehensive understanding of the decision-making processes related to EAP/SAS and PAP at both hospital and health authority levels and formulates an appropriate action plan in response.
Cultivates and sustains robust external relationships with various stakeholders, including associations, healthcare professional organizations, government officials, and hospital associations within the nation. While effectively managing change.
Motivates the internal cross-functional team to uphold the highest standards and encourages team members to expand their thinking, challenging them when necessary.
Leads the cross-functional team to collaborate with a focus on the patient, ensuring that the EAP/SAS and PAP are in alignment with Market Access and Commercial Strategy, as well as the overall business strategy and plan.
Actively collaborates with Regional and the Global team to address local requirements effectively.
Essential for the role
A medical doctor, pharmacist, public health or individual with a scientific background possessing relevant experience.
Over five years of managerial experience in market access, patient access, regulatory affairs, government relations, marketing, and key account management within the pharmaceutical sector. Experienced in presenting to regional and global management teams.
Experience working in a multi-national pharmaceutical company.
Knowledgeable about the business processes of hospitals, public and private insurance, also government entities related to market and patient access.
Exceptional communication abilities.
Strong analytic and quantitative experience with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint)
Excellence command of written and spoken English (including professional English, in the medical, market and patient access spheres) is required.
Demonstrated proven work ethic and relationship management skills, ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
