Production Manager

What you’ll do:

• Maintains an effective and economical production system in the team
• Prioritize and schedule work to ensure that turn-times and production targets are met
• Organizes and supervises production team for efficient performance of work
• Ensures that all tools, equipment and facilities are properly controlled, efficiently utilized and properly maintained
• Ensures that team members are trained and in possession of the necessary knowledge, skills and qualifications for the jobs to be performed
• Instill a healthy and positive work attitude among team members, with proper regard for standard work and safety practices
• Aligns workforce to the Eaton, Aerospace, FED, and plant vision and goals and effectively translates the vision into understandable terms for others. Inspires buy-in and support.
• Proactively seeks information on trends and issues, understands the implications for his/her area of responsibility. Demonstrates knowledge of relevant issues – customers, markets, products, suppliers, competition, technology trends, economic drivers and financial indicators.
• Provides and fosters frequent and effective two-way communication. Demonstrating active listening and resolve issues/concerns in a timely manner.
• Environmental Health & Safety: Complies with all national and local safety and environmental standards, guidelines and policies by driving EBS/World class workforce initiatives such as ISO14001 and/or applicable regional initiatives.
• Quality: Promotes a quality culture by demonstrating customer focus. Regularly communicates customer feedback to employees in order to facilitate collaborative problem solving.
• Employee Relations: Promotes and exemplifies Eaton Philosophy workplace methods (EPWP) and beliefs which build trust, mutual respect and teamwork between employees at all levels of the organization
• Eaton Business System: Participates in the planning process, achieves operational excellence by executing EBS tools, ensuring the team has the appropriate training to achieve desired goals and assessing the achievement of those goals
• Productivity: Ensures that resources are appropriately utilized to meet internal and external customer demands

Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering or related field
• Min 5 years of related professional and Supervisory/Managerial experience.

Skills:

• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Process Variation Reduction (Six Sigma) concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
• Thorough Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes
• Knowledge of financial concepts and techniques utilized to establish value propositions of operational changes
• Knowledge of materials planning systems (MRP/ERP) requirements and order generation process logic, Lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence skills in 6S, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, process focused
• Understanding of Supply Chain Management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing, inventory control, logistics, stockroom operations, and shipping/receiving
• Ability to direct and lead cross-functional process improvement teams
