We have a great opportunity for a Project Director to join our highly successful Energy Solutions business; primarily supporting our renewable energy projects.
Our Energy Solutions business oversee major renewable EPC projects across the UK. We design, install, commission and operate large scale solar PV farms for our clients. Supplying renewable energy from solar power plants enables local communities to reduce costs and reduce their carbon footprint.
General Overview
Reporting to the Director of Energy Solutions the post holder will be responsible and accountable for the successful delivery energy EPC contracts (excluding large utility scale solar farms, i.e. over 10MWp and Hydrogen). Working closely and collaboratively with the Energy & Carbon Solutions team responsible for scheme design the post holder will be responsible for the overall EPC scheme delivery focused on decarbonisation & associated projects. They will have responsibility for an existing small project management team, with wider QS, quality, commissioning and document manage support. There will be an opportunity to design and recruit appropriate supporting resources aligned with project growth.

The Role Is Accountable For
- Safe delivery of all the works performed under our contracts by either our employees or sub-contractors with zero severe accidents.
- Creating and fostering a working environment and culture within the teams where all those involved in our projects feel supported and safe to report and communicate on H&S activities, incl. accidents and near misses.;
- Seeking out new best practice to improve our current H&S standards or practices in order to continuously improve and get prepared for new technologies, systems, way of delivering our works;
- Organising the works in accordance with all environmental requirements and minimise our impact on the environment wherever possible, incl. CO2 emissions, water consumption, use of single use plastic, minimise waste, recycle wherever possible, adopt the repair culture;
- Delivering on time, on budget and at the best quality level possible the contracted works;
- Operating transparently in line with our Trading Framework, reporting proactively any issues or commercial concerns;
- Oversee CVR (Cost Value Reconciliation) to ensure project profitability and strict alignment with trading framework.
- Oversee end-to-end project delivery, aligning with EPC contract obligations and decarbonisation goals.
- Support contract negotiations with suppliers, ensuring cost-effective procurement.
- Validation of the overall engineering and cascade of the requirements / specifications to the supply chain.
- Develop and manage supply chain partnerships for sustainability-focused materials.
- Manage direct project resources and indirect teams, ensuring productivity and performance.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and environmental standards.
- Control budgets, cash flow, and financial forecasting.
- Monitor project KPIs for cost, time, and quality.
- Active risk management and mitigation strategies
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent
- Relevant M&E engineering experience within the construction sector
- Experience working on Energy Centres and Heat Networks
- Leadership role in construction or energy business
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the UK EPC market and decarbonisation technologies
- Strong management and leadership credentials
- Strong customer relationship and stakeholder management skills with an ability to drive growth and new opportunities
- Excellent construction centric financial acumen with strong P&L, net margin, balance sheet and cash focus
- Robust understanding and experience of risk and opportunity management
