Our client manufactures a well known electrical product.

Job Description

  • Customer Engagement:
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential customers through regular visits to understand their needs and reinforce product trust - focusing on Projects specifically
    • Build relationships with EPCs, Contractors, etc
    • Share insights on customer engagement strategies with the sales team.
Team Leadership:

  • Develop and supervise the sales team, providing training in product knowledge, sales techniques, and strategic selling.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals and provide timely feedback to enhance team performance.
  • Sales Management:
  • Oversee daily activities, including customer visits, account development, and quotations, ensuring comprehensive project coverage.
  • Set and monitor sales targets related to order value, revenue, and gross profit to achieve budget goals.
  • Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work with marketing to promote the company's product portfolio and enhance brand awareness.
  • Coordinate with Technical Support and Engineering for pre-sales activities and project execution, ensuring effective management of business processes.
  • Inventory Management:
  • Optimize stock levels and profiles within the market segments to improve cash flow and prepare for new inventory.
  • Review and manage warehouse inventory for project needs, ensuring timely procurement and minimizing obsolete stock.
  • Performance Monitoring:
  • Utilize CRM systems (e.g., C4C) to input sales data, track progress, and manage opportunity pipelines.
  • Monitor outstanding debts monthly to mitigate bad debt risks and improve cash flow.
  • Strategic Planning:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for expanding the Industrial Automation and Building Automation segments.
  • Apply the Sales Effectiveness Program (SEP) to enhance project sales through regular coaching and performance reviews.
  • Project Support:
  • Advise the sales team on commercial and technical aspects of projects to ensure successful completion.


The Successful Applicant

  • Qualifications:
  • Degree/Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering
  • Relevant professional membership (e.g., engineering or sales associations)
  • Experience:
  • At least 5 years of experience in industrial sales, with a focus on sales management + project sales
  • Minimum 10 years of overall working experience in sales or technical sales
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing strategies
  • Skills:
  • Strong competence in management of departments or companies
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Solid foundation in technology, including computer skills
  • Experience with CRM systems and related sales tools
