DESIGNATION : QA Associate
RESPONSIBILITIES
Role Purpose
To develop Test Plans, Test Scenarios, Test Cases, and scripts for User Acceptance Testing and Regression Testing and be able to review test plans and test approaches and ensure they meet requirements of the goal of the system.
Focuses on ensuring that products, software, or services meet specific quality standards before they are delivered to customers. Their role is crucial in preventing defects, improving product quality, and ensuring smooth operation across all systems or processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Have 2-3 Years experiences in current position (something related)
- Perform routine assignment based on own initiative as well as request from Senior Level/Line Manager
- Understand and implement Policy & Procedure precisely
- Execute the idea and work based on standard of the procedures with some initiatives
- Already have the accountability on the work they manage
- Give feedback and challenge requirement from Product Owner
- Understanding product knowledge
- Manage priority taks that has been assigned
- Manual Testing: QA associates conduct manual tests to identify bugs, defects, or inconsistencies in software or products. This could involve testing features, functionalities, and user experience.
- Automated Testing: If applicable, they may use automated testing tools (such as Selenium, JUnit, or TestNG) to run scripts that test applications repeatedly, ensuring that they meet set standards across various scenarios
- Creating Test Plans: They design detailed test plans and test cases based on product specifications and business requirements.
- Test Execution: Execute test cases to verify if the product operates as expected and document the results
- Identifying Defects: QA associates are responsible for identifying and reporting bugs or defects in the product or system.
- Defect Tracking Tools: They use tools like Jira, Bugzilla, or Trello to track defects, assign them to developers, and follow through on resolutions.
- Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with developers to understand issues, validate bug fixes, and ensure that all issues are resolved before release
- Test Documentation: QA associates create and maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test scripts, and test reports.
- Reporting: Generate reports that provide insights into testing progress, test coverage, quality status, and any identified issues to stakeholders
- Assisting in UAT: QA associates may work with end-users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure that the product meets the intended business requirements and is user-friendly

- Establish and maintain active and constructive relationships with internal squad or project team

- Risk/Findings audit to be fulfilled

Qualifications
- Proven experience in Quality Assurance Engineer, Quality Assurance or similar position at least 2-3 years
- Bachelor's Degree: Most QA Associate roles require at least a bachelor's degree in a related field such as: Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics or other related technical disciplines.
- Equivalent Experience: In some cases, relevant work experience in QA or a related field may substitute for formal education.
- Software Testing: Understanding of different software testing methodologies (e.g., manual testing, automated testing, functional testing, regression testing).
- Automation Tools: Familiarity with automated testing tools such as Selenium, TestComplete, JUnit, QTP, or Postman (for API testing) is often preferred.
- Defect Tracking Tools: Proficiency with bug-tracking systems like Jira, Bugzilla, or Trello for logging, tracking, and managing defects.
- Basic Programming Knowledge: Some basic coding or scripting knowledge (in languages like Python, Java, or JavaScript) may be beneficial for creating or modifying automated test scripts.
