Overall Responsibility

India FSE / Sales Manager provides leadership and management of the direction, planning, and execution for expanding Sales achievement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving significant growth in our most strategic customers
  • Leads a joint company-strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives, revenue targets, and critical milestones.
    • Possess the unique skill set of solution selling at an application level. Also needs to lead the solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.
    • Understands how to create value for account over and above specific opportunities, often including value co-creation, customer satisfaction improvement, rigorous application of company resources, and operational and structural alignment with account direction and needs.
    • Responsible for developing the right long-term relationships between the right people in both companies to become the trusted advisor in the account and into Altera
    • Experience in selling both to hardware and software management in the customers.
    • Capable of making a deal offer and close a deal offer with customer that is a win-win for both companies.
    • Leads the customer account planning cycle and ensuring assigned customers’ needs and expectations are met by Altera.
    • Together with a senior FAE he will win the highest volume platforms in customer that will drive significant long term sustainable growth.
    • Customers are potentially multi B$ companies will multiple sites across INDIA and potentially across the world or smaller but leaders in their specific market segment. We are looking to become the #1 logic supplier and a Top-3 strategic supplier.

  • Leadership
    • Develop a vision of what the Technical Field team should be and how we can better penetrate the market
    • Provide the strategic and tactical direction such that the APJ Technical Field team can learn to take ownership and effectively support the successful program from the Sales team.
    • Pull the entire organization to a common point: HQ, FAE, RAE, Marketing, and Sales
    • Will need to be high energy and highly passionate about the job and create a high sense of urgency
    • Command respect throughout the company and with customers
    • Takes ownership of corporate policies and define own policies where absent
    • Lead and drives team to higher standards

  • Pre Sales Promotion
    • Develop deep understanding of customers’ markets, competencies, obstacles
    • Engage with FAEs to build business credibility with customers’ management
    • Work with Segment teams to define usage proposals
    • Drive local team to generate and deliver application proposals
    • Coach team to hunt and persuade customers from a technical perspective

  • Post Sales Support
    • Drive early customer engagement with design reviews, establishing a culture of program management and ownership at a detailed and technical meaningful level
    • Nurture a culture to provide rapid exchange between factory and field
    • Work with training teams to define appropriate curriculum for customer training

  • Channel Management
    • Establish clear partitioning between Disti FAE and Altera FAE teams
    • Assure technical proficiency in the channel by sponsoring certification programs
    • Engage with Disti management to set goals and measure output of Disti FAE team
Qualifications

  • Business & Technical knowledge
    • B Eng/BSc in Electronics or equivalent.
    • Deep understanding of semiconductor sales process.
    • Understanding of semiconductor technologies. (Device Technology, Design Technology, System Technology).
    • Understanding of Industry, Communications, Broadcasting or Medical businesses.
    • At least 7/12 years’ experience in selling solutions to hardware and or software people at management level.
    • Experienced in Power Base Selling or Key Account Selling or equivalent.
    • High energy and highly passionate about the job and create a high sense of urgency.
    • Command respect throughout the company and with customers.
    • Capable of building executive relationships with key people in customers.
    • Deep understanding of semiconductor technologies. (Device Technology. Design Technology, System Technology)

  • Global Business experiences.
    • Experiences of working for foreign owned organization or having oversees assignment
    • Experiences of conducting global business.
    • Worked closely with people having variety of cultural backgrounds

  • Communication
    • Logically communicate with variety of stakeholders to drive the best solution and conclusion.
    • Good command of English
