What You’ll Be Doing

As a Video Editor & Short-Form Video Editor, you’ll be responsible for producing visually engaging content tailored to modern audiences. Whether it’s crafting a YouTube masterpiece or creating snappy, thumb-stopping reels for social media, you’ll be at the forefront of digital storytelling.

Here’s what your day-to-day might look like:

• Editing Long-Form Content: Transform raw footage into polished video stories for platforms like YouTube and Vimeo.
• Creating Short-Form Magic: Edit and format video clips for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and other social platforms.
• Motion Graphics: Add animations, transitions, and text overlays to enhance storytelling and engagement.
• Collaborating with Clients: Understand project briefs, align on creative direction, and deliver high-quality edits that exceed expectations.
• Sound Design: Mix music, sound effects, and dialogue to create an immersive viewing experience.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure that all video content aligns with the brand's voice and visual identity.
• Creative Brainstorming: Bring fresh ideas to the table, suggesting concepts for new content styles and formats.
• Staying on Trend: Keep up with the latest video trends and editing techniques to deliver cutting-edge content.

Skills & Tools You’ll Need

Necessary Skills:

• Proficiency in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
• Basic to advanced knowledge of motion graphics software (After Effects is a plus).
• Experience editing short-form content for platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Strong storytelling skills, with an understanding of pacing, transitions, and timing.
• Ability to color grade and apply consistent visual aesthetics.
• Familiarity with aspect ratios, codecs, and export settings for various platforms.
• Creative mindset with a sharp eye for detail.
• Excellent time management skills to handle tight deadlines.

Preferred but not necessary:

• Knowledge of 3D animation tools (Blender, Cinema 4D).
• Experience working with AI-powered editing tools (Descript, Runway ML).
• Understanding of SEO for video and YouTube optimization.
• Background in photography or cinematography.
