Mechanic Trainee

Job Description

Job Overview:

• Conduct business & perform duties/tasks in accordance with McDermott’s, Code of Business Conduct, HSES and McDermott’s Quality Policies
• Perform mechanical repair and test activities for building and machinery equipment as instructed while ensuring adherence to HSE, OEM guidelines and Company rules and regulations
• Communicate well with Foreman and have a clear and precise understanding of his given task and what is expected from him
• Put in place all necessary safety barriers and precautions before task commencement
  
  

Responsibilities

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Inspect, Identify and remove from site immediately any tools or devices which are unsafe, damaged or defective. (Report to Maintenance Foreman)
• Foster a practice a safety-first culture within the Mechanical Maintenance Crew
• Confirm that all safety precautions and mandatory requirements are satisfactorily in place prior work commencement
• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that good housekeeping discipline is employed at all times
• Responsible for understanding precise instructions and ensuring that the suitably rated equipment required carrying out the instruction in a safe and timely manner is being used
• Responsible for the correct disposal of used lubricants or any other fluids or chemical remnants
• Responsible and accountable for ensuring that he is in possession of and is wearing the correct PPE for his given task
• Attend all Toolbox Talks
• Responsible for reporting any incidents or near misses to Foreman immediately
• Possess a good understanding of the Company HSE Policy, Philosophy, Procedures and OEM guideline
• Report to Foreman in a timely manner any obstacles which are likely to impede the crew’s ability to meet targets
• Responsible for confirming that all Mechanical equipment using has been properly tagged or color coded as being safe for use
• Able to diagnose and trouble shoot problem on conventional and computer control crawler crane
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct repair of crawler crane
• Understand how to erect and disassemble main boom, wire rope and understand to read and use crane load chart following OEM guideline
• Understand to do repairing and overhaul pneumatic and hydraulic system on crawler crane
• Perform preventive maintenance for crawler came following schedule on CMMS and OEM guideline
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct preventive maintenance on crawler crane following OEM guideline
• Understand to do annual inspection and certification includes load testing following HSE and OEM guidelines also company rules and regulations
• Perform preventive maintenance for overhead crane, tower crane, elevators, chain hoist, below hook devices and tool equipment’s following schedule on CMMS and OEM guideline
• Able to understand mechanical instruction and conduct preventive on overhead crane, tower crane, elevators, chain hoist, below hook devices and tool equipment’s following CMMS, HSE and OEM guideline
• Understand to do annual inspection and certification includes load testing following HSE and OEM guidelines also company rules and regulations
• Able to diagnose and trouble shoot problem on conventional and computer control on overhead crane, tower crane, elevators, chain hoist below hook devices and tool equipment’s
• Able to understand mechanical instruction and conduct repair on overhead crane, tower crane, elevators, chain hoist, below hook devices and tool equipment’s
• Understand assemble/ disassemble, and repair overhead crane, tower crane, elevators, chain hoist, below hook devices and tool equipment’s
• Able to diagnose and trouble shoot problem on conventional and computer control on hydraulic crane
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct repair on hydraulic crane, telescopic boom manlift, fork lift and heavy equipment’s
• Understand assemble/ disassemble and engines, forklifts, hydraulic cranes, telescopic boom manlifts and heavy equipment’s following OEM guideline
• Understand to do repairing and overhaul pneumatic and hydraulic system on hydraulic crane, forklift, telescopic boom main lift and heavy equipment’s
• Perform preventive maintenance for hydraulic crane, telescopic boom manlift, forklift and heavy equipment following schedule on CMMS and OEM guideline
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct preventive maintenance on hydraulic crane, telescopic boom manlift, forklift and heavy equipment following OEM guideline
• Understand to do annual inspection and certification includes load testing following HSE and OEM guidelines also company rules and regulations
• Able to diagnose and trouble shoot problem for vehicles, ATV, motor bikes, trailers, farm wagon, truck crane and tractors
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct repair on vehicles, ATV, motor bikes, trailers, farm wagon, truck crane and tractors following OEM guideline
• Understand to do repairing and overhaul pneumatic and hydraulic system for trailers, truck crane and tractors
• Perform preventive maintenance for vehicles, ATV, motor bikes, trailers, farm wagon, truck crane and tractors following schedule on CMMS and OEM guideline
• Able to understand mechanical and electrical instruction and conduct preventive maintenance on vehicles, ATV, motor bikes, trailers, farm wagon, truck crane and tractors following OEM guideline
• Understand to do annual inspection and certification includes load testing truck crane, trailers and tractors following HSE and OEM guidelines also company rules and regulations
• High standard of safe working practice, quality and productivity as well as compliance with Code of Business Conduct
  
  

Qualifications

Essential Qualifications and Education:

• Minimum Senior High School graduate
• Possess maintenance experience
