Application Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Responsible for installing, configuring and training customers on Esko software, ensuring customers are able to use the software efficiently on their own.
• Prepare every job in detail, either working remotely or traveling to customer sites within SEA region.
• Ensure alignment with the customer's IT department, to install software and also training the users, developing configurations and workflows tailored to their needs.
• Adopts a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to train and educate customers effectively.
• Active engagement with customers to scout any potential sales leads to Sales team.
• Provide site support during exhibitions, roadshows and trade events within the region.
• Perform any other tasks as assigned.
  
  
  

Key Requirements

• Experience in problem solving, and a quick learner and IT competency.
• Analytical mindset, with a calm, methodical approach to problem solving.
• Direct experience handling complex technical issues with customers and/or suppliers.
• EITHER 2+ years of experience in prepress for packaging, workflow administrator for prepress automation systems or Esko software (Automation Engine, WebCenter).
• AND/OR Formal qualification in print/prepress (also in similar businesses like commercial printing).
  
  
  

Competencies

• Min. 2-3 years’ experience of working on Application software to prepress, preproduction or graphic arts industry.
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additional Southeast Asian language(s) will be a plus.
• Must have the passion to continuously learn, especially the latest trends in this industry and mastering newest technologies to keep up with it.
• Good communicator with the ability to present and to teach.
• Flexible in travel and finding solutions (spending on average 25% of the time away from home to be at customers’ sites).
• Occasionally be required to travel for training, if any.
• Empathy for customers, colleagues and suppliers.
• Proactive to the problem at hand, as well as challenging how we eliminate problems in future!
• Excellent listening skills and ability to interpret customer needs and manage customer expectations.
