The Fabrication Operations Specialist applies their conceptual knowledge of operations and with a moderate level of guidance and direction from colleagues and leadership, is responsible for solving a range of straightforward operations problems. They will be responsible for analyzing possible solutions using standard procedures, as well as building knowledge of the company, processes, and customers. The Fabrication Operations Specialist understands key business drivers and applies this knowledge to solve problems in straightforward situations through analysis of possible solutions using technical experience, judgment, and precedents.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Perform a detailed technical analysis of complex project issues
- Monitor applicable regulatory requirements
- Break complex technical tasks into manageable subtasks
- Publish papers in the area of expertise
- Establish scope, schedules, and cost controls consistent with their discipline and compatible with client objectives
- Manage mid-sized technical projects and serve as the technical manager on projects
- Drive the development and implementation of fabrication plans, including material procurement, manpower allocation, and equipment utilization
- Assist in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing fabrication methodologies, and optimizing productivity
- Lead the investigation and resolution of any non-conformances or deviations from prescribed fabrication procedures
- Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company policies and procedures
- High standard of safe working practice, quality, and productivity as well as compliance with the code of business conducts
- Work activities include collection and interpretation of engineering data, development of Engineering reports, development of project design basis, development of specifications, and performance of detailed engineering
Essential Qualifications and Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering preferred; Mechanical, Electrical, and Manufacturing engineering degrees will be considered
- Typically has 5-20 years of relevant experience with an expertise in Fabrication Operations
- Has in-depth experience, knowledge, and skills in their discipline
- Works independently with minimal guidance
- Usually determines own work priorities
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience
- Applies knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations
- Interprets customer needs, assesses requirements, and identifies solutions to non-standard requests
- Uses best practices and knowledge of internal/external business issues to improve products or services in its discipline
- Monitors and controls costs within own work
- Solves moderately complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions
- Manages own time to meet agreed targets; develops plans for short-term work activities in own area
- Explains difficult issues and works to establish consensus
- Promotes teamwork, coaches, and guides others
