What You'll Do

As a part of BCG's X team, you will work closely with consulting teams on a diverse range of advanced analytics topics, including AI, Generative AI, machine learning, optimization, simulation, and cutting-edge engineering topics, among many others. You will have the opportunity to leverage analytical methodologies to deliver value to BCG's Consulting (case) teams and Practice Areas (domain) through providing analytical and engineering subject matter expertise.

As a Full Stack Engineer, you will collaborate with teams to gather requirements, specify, design, develop, deliver and support software solutions serving client needs. You will provide technical support through deeper understanding of relevant software solutions and processes to build high quality and efficient technology solutions. Assignments will range from short term Proof of concepts/Minimum viable product to long term cases with enterprise grade software development as a critical enabler through the project level description of the role responsibilities and impact within the organization.

Who You Are

• End to End high scale web-development experience across all the phases of the development lifecycle, including but not just limited to architecting, design, planning, development, testing and deployment
• Maintains a strong knowledge base of new open-source tech stacks, frameworks, applications, techniques, and skills
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills; must be proactive and take initiative. Familiarity with agile methodologies and the ability to thrive in Agile environments
• Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate complex business problems and translate business logic into project requirements
• Create and develop robust proprietary code using development best practices, and an emphasis on security best practices to ensure the highest level of application security
• Leverage technologies to support business needs to attain high reusability, scalability and maintainability of current and newly developed systems
• Define and execute structured software development approach, selecting methodologies and tools that achieve the desired outcome efficiently
• Analyze technical requirements and provide recommendations for efficient, scalable system designs and architectures that prioritize performance and usability
• Work independently on development tasks with minimal supervision
• Write and maintain comprehensive unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests to guarantee the reliability and performance of delivered software
• Establish credibility by thought partnering with demanding stakeholders / consulting teams on web development and delivery topics; drawing conclusions on a range of external and internal issues and dependencies
• Communicate insights through sophisticated synthesis and packaging of results (including PPT slides and charts) with stakeholders / consulting teams; collecting, synthesizing, learnings & inputs into new best practices and methodologies
• Ensure proper sign‐off before uploading materials into internal repository for reference; sanitizing confidential client content in marketing documents
• Contributes to team's content & IP development
• Leverage best practices sch as code reviews, automated CI/CD pipelines, and version control to deliver clean, high-quality code.
• Strong experience in building, designing and developing high-performance, scalable web applications using modern frameworks – React, Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML5 and CSS3
• Skilled in creating responsive, cross-platform UI designs using tools like Material UI or Ant Design to ensure seamless user experiences on both web and mobile platforms
• Proficiency in leveraging UI component libraries to produce high-quality production apps following a high-fidelity design and specifications
• Competence in connecting frontend interfaces with robust backend system through APIs e.g. Restful or Fast APIs or similar web service architectures.
• Experience with PostgreSQL and other relational databases to handle large datasets effectively, as well as familiarity with NoSQL databases (e.g. MongoDB, Firebase) for mobile-centric use cases
• Strong grasp of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts and design patterns, and modern programming paradigms tailored for web/mobile app development
• Proficiency in unit testing, integration testing, and end-to-end testing frameworks like Jest, Mockito, Junit or Detox
• Track record of designing, developing and supporting highly scalable, responsive web applications and services
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools such as Firebase Performance Monitoring or AppDynamics
• Experience in mobile-specific tools and platforms, such as Google Play Console and Apple App Store Connect, for deployment and app lifecycle management
• Strong understanding of responsive design principles to ensure applications adapt effectively across web and mobile platforms
• Knowledge of integrating third-party libraries for web/mobile app features such as payment gateways, location services and social media APIs

Working knowledge of:

• Unix command-line tools, code versioning and collaboration tools such as Git
• DevOps and Deployment – including CI/CD and tools to streamline software delivery
• Cloud infra architecture design (AWS, Azure, GCP, Oracle) and deployment
• UI component libraries to produce high-quality production web/mobile apps following a high-fidelity design and a specification

What You'll Bring (Experience & Qualifications)

• Bachelor's / Master's degree in computer science engineering/technology or equivalent
• Excellent communication skills
• At least 2-4 years of full-stack end-to-end web – application/tool development experience in a commercial setup specifically services or consulting organization
• Additional weightage for contributions made to open source projects, blogs, forums etc. in relevant technologies

Work Environment

Ability to travel based on client and business needs.
