Junior Data Scientist - Yogyakarta

Job Description

We are looking for a highly motivated Junior Data Scientist to join our team at PT. Sigma Cipta Caraka (Telkomsigma), placement in Yogyakarta. In this entry-level role, you will support data-driven initiatives by building models, analyzing datasets, and generating insights that help drive business decisions. You will work closely with senior data scientists, data engineers, and business stakeholders to solve real-world problems using data.

Key Responsibilities

• Collect, clean, and preprocess structured and unstructured data from various sources.
• Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) to identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
• Assist in building and validating predictive models using machine learning or statistical methods.
• Generate data visualizations and dashboards to communicate insights clearly.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define business problems and translate them into data solutions.
• Support deployment of models into production environments in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Document data workflows, model assumptions, and analytical results.
• Stay updated on latest tools, techniques, and best practices in data science and machine learning.
• Ensure data security and compliance with data governance policies.
  
  

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a data-related role (e.g., internship, freelance, or full-time).
• Proficient in Python or R, and familiar with libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.
• Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
• Basic understanding of machine learning concepts and model evaluation techniques.
• Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Matplotlib, Seaborn, Power BI, or Tableau).
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills to explain technical results to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiar with version control systems like Git is a plus.
• Willing to be placed in Yogyakarta.
