Lead Data Analyst

We are seeking a highly analytical and motivated Lead Data Analyst to join our team in Bandung, Indonesia, with a defined career path toward becoming our Data Lead. This role is pivotal to transforming our data infrastructure, overseeing operational reporting from legacy systems, and implementing upcoming a new data warehouse tool.

As the Lead Data Analyst, you will play a strategic role in guiding our data maturity journey. You'll bridge legacy operations with modern analytics and lead a growing team starting with one analyst based in Bandung. You will work closely with the Finance and Data teams to align data strategy with financial goals and business growth, ensuring data drives decision-making across the organisation.

Work Arrangement

• Full-time position
• Hybrid work model (2-3 days per week in the office)
• Monday to Friday, 5-day work week (flexible work schedule)
• Eligible to reside and work in Bandung (Indonesian citizenship only)

Key Accountabilities

Understand business requirements and create reports/data frameworks to report critical information needed by the business:

Legacy Systems Oversight

• Maintain and optimise data reporting and ETL workflows from our legacy sales portal.
• Driving efficiencies with automating and streamlining billing processes.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of existing operational dashboards and performance metrics.
• Document data definitions, data flows, and business rules for legacy systems.
• Validate data consistency across multiple reports
• Collect data from multiple sources, ensure data quality, find data discrepancy and fix data issues

Modern Data Infrastructure (Databricks) Implementation

• Collaborate with the Engineering team on the design, development, and implementation of upcoming new cloud-based data warehouse.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and finance teams to define schema, pipelines, and analytics frameworks.
• Drive the expansion of existing reporting and dashboards within Power BI
• Establish robust data governance and quality assurance processes.

Team Leadership

• Manage and mentor one Data Analyst based in Bandung, providing direction, support, and growth opportunities.
• Define team OKRs and performance metrics in alignment with company strategy.
• Help build out the future data team and provide leadership in recruiting, onboarding, and development.

Strategic Business Support

• Work with the Finance team to translate financial and operational data into actionable business insights.
• Produce executive-level dashboards, KPI tracking, and performance reports.
• Identify key trends, anomalies, and risks in revenue, customer behaviour, and operational performance.
• Build insights from reports to measure key KPIs for the company
• Analyse trends and notify key users when key KPI numbers seem incorrect
• Primary point of contact for ad hoc and recurring data requests from stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
• Continually work with the data team to provide updates on missing data or erroneous data
• Basic project management to maintain list of activities/improvements

Qualifications and Competencies

• 7+ years of experience in building reports/dashboards in data analytics, with strong SQL skills and a background in cloud data platforms (PowerBI).
• Good knowledge of data visualization and how to represent data in a meaningful manner
• Demonstrated experience with Databricks, Spark, or other modern data lake/data warehouse technologies.
• Experience of managing data consistency and integrity
• Proven ability to lead analytics initiatives and projects with minimal oversight.
• Experience in mentoring or managing junior analysts or data professionals.
• Strong business acumen, especially in SaaS, finance, or sales analytics contexts.
• Experience in stakeholder management
• Good English communication skills
• Attention to detail
• Good interpersonal skills, oral and written skills, with the ability to present ideas

Big Plus if you have

• Experience of statistical methodologies and data analysis techniques
• Experienced in PowerBI dashboard building
• Knowledge of SAAS industry-specific KPIs
