Senior and Junior Researcher

Center for Digital Society (CfDS) is a research center under the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Our research center focuses on research and activities related to digital society phenomena while also responding to contemporary socio-political issues related to the ever-evolving information technology.

In order to improve our research center performance, we would like to open opportunities for talented individuals to join our team. This vacancy is intended for senior and junior social researchers. Detailed information about the position is provided below.

→ Junior Research Officer

a. Job Description:

• Initiating and writing external publication, i.e. op-ed articles, conference proceedings; and/or academic journal;
• Assisting research assistant on conducting research projects;
• Assisting research assistant to oversee internal publication processes;
• Guiding research assistants and research interns with their monthly research outputs;
• Assisting the Head of Research in internal research management;
• Assisting the Head of Research to draft research proposals.

b. Qualifications:

• Holds a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 of 4.0 (or equivalent)
• Possesses a minimum of 1 years of social research experience.
• Demonstrates proficiency in English, both written and oral.
• Exhibits excellent research skills.
• Capable of working effectively both individually and in a team.
• Proficiency in utilizing research software such as SPSS, Stata, NVivo, etc., is considered an added advantage.
• Preferably based in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.

→ Senior Research Officer

a. Job Description:

• Initiate, lead, and oversee ongoing research projects;
• Assisting the Head of Research in mapping potential research projects and grants;
• Assisting the Head of Research in research planning and internal research management;
• Responsible to publish external publications (i.e. op-ed articles, conference proceedings; and/or academic journal);
• Assisting the Head of Research to initiate research proposals.

b. Qualifications:

• Holds a master’s degree with a minimum GPA of 3.5 of 4.0 (or equivalent)
• Possesses a minimum of 3 years of social research experience.
• Demonstrates proficiency in English, both written and oral.
• Exhibits excellent research skills.
• Capable of working effectively both individually and in a team.
• Experienced on leading research projects.
• Applicants with excellent scientific research publications will be preferred.
• Proficiency in utilizing research software such as SPSS, Stata, NVivo, etc., is considered an added advantage.
• Preferably based in the Special Region of Yogyakarta.
