What you will do
The specialist engineer is responsible for participating in comprehensive engineering activities to develop and implement effective, high-quality processes and design guidelines for dissemination throughout the division. You will provide design reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability, implement equipment, materials, and process performance requirements, and facilitate experiments and capability studies:
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement maintenance strategies, procedures, and methods to ensure optimal performance of equipment and processes.
- Identify and troubleshoot process issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement process improvements.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements to continuously improve processes and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to maintenance and process procedures and activities.
- Develop and implement effective, high-quality processes and design guidelines for dissemination throughout the division.
- Provide design reviews and feedback for improvements in manufacturability.
- Implement equipment, materials, and process performance requirements.
- Perform vendor searches and equipment evaluation to ensure adequate capability to produce quality products in required quantities at an effective cost.
- Facilitate experiments and capability studies.
- Design and procure process tools.
- Evaluate and advise on the selection of suitable equipment for optimized, balanced line performance.
- Analyze new systems and equipment with the intent of achieving continuous improvement of present methods.
- Edit and publish process documentation and training materials for processes, materials, and equipment.
- Plan and conduct activities related to the development of new processes including researching current and emerging technologies.
- Evaluate process cost, quality, and capability alternatives.
- Perform process characterization and optimization using designed experiments.
- Use problem solving and decision-making tools.
What we are looking for
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical/mechanical engineering, Mechatronics) or related field.
- 2-4 years of experience in maintenance and process engineering.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with industry regulations and standards.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean).
- University/bachelor’s degree or Equivalent.
- 2-4 years of related experience.
