In 2022, we’ve joined forces with Districon, a leading supply chain analytics and logistics consultancy with 45 years’ experience developing strategies and solving issues for supply chain management and integrated logistics.
Our joint team forms the Supply Chain & Logistics Centre of Excellence within RHDHV. We provide top-tier logistics & supply chain advisory as well as digital supply chain advanced analytics services on top of RHDHV’s traditional engineering and consultancy domain knowledge
What will you do
What you will do
How to optimize supply chain networks and improve profitability? What is tactically the optimal balance between demand, supply and capacity? What is the optimal order batching and picking sequence in a warehouse? What is the optimal production schedule in manufacturing environment? What is the optimal fleet utilization of an ocean, air, rail, or road carrier? And any other supply chain optimization challenge.
As a Supply Chain Modelling Engineer, you solve these challenges by developing data analytics, optimization & simulation applications for our clients, that enable them to make data-driven, scenario-based decisions. You apply your skills and work together with the team to collect and validate data, integrate applications with core systems, develop back-end calculations, design user interfaces, and provide training and support to users.
- You participate in or lead the development, testing, and implementation of new applications, guiding both the project team and the client's team.
- You participate in or lead the support and maintenance of the applications, including updates, bug fixes, and continuous improvement through new functionalities.
- You participate in or lead regular sprint meetings, aligning business challenges with solution requirements.
In addition to project work, you may also get responsibilities in business development. Think about setting up and giving demos, preparing materials for conferences, and talking to potential clients. As we work project-based it is important for us to get new clients and keep on generating work.
We work a lot with the mathematical optimization platform AIMMS, simulation software WITNESS Horizon, and SQL, Power BI, Azure, and Python.
Where you will work
This role is based in Jakarta, Indonesia. Candidates are required to have valid work permits for the place of work (no sponsorship). The role offers flexibility to work partly at home and partly in the office. Travel to client sites across APAC for project work is occasionally required
What you bring
You have a strong interest in solving complex puzzles within the supply chain domain. You have an affinity with programming and connecting data sets. You are critical, accurate and show courage, you like to create your own opportunities.
As a Supply Chain Modelling Engineer, you are:
- Analytically strong: capable of understanding and explaining complex processes.
- Technology driven: you have an interest in collecting, optimizing, connecting and structuring data from multiple sources.
- Pragmatic: you apply a creative approach, and, not always the most complex mathematical solution will help our client.
- A bit headstrong: you think further than necessary and give unsolicited advice.
As a basis, you bring along:
Educational background:
- A completed academic master’s degree in industrial engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Operations Research, (Applied) Mathematics, or a related field.
Technical skills:
- Experience with DevOps and CI/CD pipelines and GIT version control
- Familiarity with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and tools.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as SQL and Python.
- Experience with relational databases.
- Experience with data visualization tools like Power BI.
- Knowledge of cloud services like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
- Experience with AIMMS is a plus, as many of our applications are developed using AIMMS software.
Practical experience:
- 2-5 years of relevant working experience in data analytics, supply chain, logistics or an ICT role, gained during or after your studies.
Soft skills:
- Fluent in English – excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on projects while being a strong team player who enjoys working on a variety of projects.
Willingness to travel for occasional trips to our offices in Singapore and The Netherlands, or to APAC clients
