Principal Consultant-Corporate Sustainability & Climate Change

ERM is seeking motivated Principal Consultant who is interested in participating on a variety of projects covering the full spectrum of ERM’s services. Access to ERM's worldwide network of EHS experts provides the knowledge sharing of best practices across the industry and ongoing learning opportunities for everyone Responsibilities: Play an integral role in delivering consulting services to client companies. Areas of project focus will include:

• Sustainability strategy and program development and implementation, and sustainability reporting
• Have significant responsibility for managing key accounts and large-scale Sustainability program, developing sustainability communications for key stakeholders, identifying and developing new business opportunities
• Fulfill certain internal management responsibilities of ERM including: planning and budgeting, training and professional development of the sustainability consultants, and interfacing with other practice areas and project teams within ERM
• The candidate should have some experiences in developing direct reports, business and client skills
• Consulting experience and/or proven ability to perform the key functions of a consultant, including: developing and maintaining client relationships; pursuing and creating business opportunities; and managing multiple projects
• Build on client relationships and internal networks, conduct marketing activities, and project sales
• Where appropriate work with the other service teams on opportunities, proposals, projects and other marketing/business activities across the team, the company and broadly ERM global business
• Acting as a role model and mentor to new joiners and junior consultants

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; master's degree preferred (sustainability development, sustainability management, sustainability science, Industrial engineering, public policy, environmental science, business administration)
• At least 10-12 years’ experience in sustainability related topics with environmental expertise and / or engineering work
• Strong writer and ability to translate complex issues into concise, relevant stories
• Strong analytical, logic, problem solver and systematic thinking skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English are desired, along with facilitation skills
• Strong and demonstrable project management experience with a skill set in relevant project management tools
• Good knowledge in sustainability tools such as GRI, DJSI and ISO14000
• Proficiency with MS office suite; ability to learn others as required
• Have good inter-personal skills, engagement skills and ability to facilitate participation from others
• Can-do attitude and enthusiasm are necessary as is strict attention to details, organization, and the ability to work quickly and efficiently
• Willingness to undertake business travel
